Onwuachi hopes to “shake things up” at Food & Wine

Two decades after cooking his first recipe from Food & Wine as a 9-year-old, Kwame Onwuachi says he wants to “create dope experiences” and “shake things up” in his new role as executive producer for the publication. Onwuachi is also working on a movie based on his memoir, “Notes From a Young Black Chef,” and plans to host an event in Virginia in August called The Family Reunion that will celebrate diversity in the hospitality industry.
