OpenAI Set to Launch ‘Strawberry’ AI for ChatGPT in Two Weeks, Focusing on Enhanced Reasoning
OpenAI plans to release “Strawberry,” a reasoning-focused artificial intelligence model, as part of its ChatGPT service in the next two weeks, according to a report from The Information. The new AI, tested by select users, aims to differentiate itself from other conversational models by “thinking” before responding, providing more thoughtful answers.
Led by CEO Sam Altman, OpenAI has garnered significant attention and investment as businesses increasingly adopt AI to enhance their products. Backed by Microsoft, the company recently reported more than 1 million paying users for its business products, driven by the advanced capabilities of its ChatGPT chatbot, powered by large language models.
Strawberry stands out from other AI models due to its reasoning capabilities, designed to improve the accuracy and depth of responses. While it is integrated with ChatGPT, The Information reports that Strawberry may also be available as a standalone service, though specifics on its offering remain unclear.
Unlike other multimodal AI models that process both text and images, Strawberry’s initial version will be limited to text-based inputs and outputs. This release is seen as another significant step in OpenAI’s continued development of AI technology, with potential updates in the future to expand its capabilities.
The anticipated launch of Strawberry marks a new phase for OpenAI, as the company pushes the boundaries of AI reasoning and conversational tools.
