Opinion: Hotelier wins in Boston convention center plan

Most local hotels figure to gain little benefit from the proposed $400 million expansion of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, but a notable exception will be a nearby hotel and its well-connected owner, a commentator writes. State plans for the project include a connection to the $550 million Omni Boston Seaport Hotel, part of a chain headed by prominent Texas political donor Robert Rowling.
