Opposition rises to 2nd hotel purchase for homeless

Residents and business owners held a demonstration Sunday in front of the Candlewood Suites hotel in Austin, Texas, protesting its proposed purchase by the city to house the homeless. The City Council last week decided to buy the Texas Bungalows Hotel & Suites for homeless people’s residency and is scheduled to vote Thursday on whether to add Candlewood.
