Over 2.8 Million Passengers Travelled Through Dublin Airport in June
Just over 2.8 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in June, an increase of 373k passengers when compared to 2021 and 88% of the passenger numbers seen pre-pandemic in June 2019.
More than 12m passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first six months of 2022, representing an increase of 1,054% versus last year and around 77% of 2019 levels.
Almost 8 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport between April and June of 2022, which is 87% of 2019 levels and an increase of 1210% of 2021 levels.
In June, passenger volumes to and from Continental Europe saw an increase of 1.4m versus the same month last year. That number was down by just -7% when compared with June 2019.
UK traffic reached almost 720k in June – an increase of c. 655k on the same month last year, and was around 82% of June 2019 traffic.
Passenger volumes to and from North America were at 85% versus June 2019, as around 400k passengers travelled on transatlantic routes. Dublin Airport saw an increase of around 365k passengers travelling to and from North America in June 2022 versus the same period last year.
Other International passenger traffic to totalled around 65k, which was 60k more than travelled in June 2021, but 31% lower than in 2019.
Domestic passengers have increased by 33% versus 2019, to just under 13k. This was also almost 11k higher than last year.
Dublin Airport will serve 180 destinations worldwide this year, in partnership with 44 airlines, as it continues to rebuild its global reach following the devastating impact on the aviation sector due to COVID-19.
