PHI Aviation has officially received two new Airbus H175 helicopters, marking the first time the operator will utilize this variant. The addition of these advanced helicopters comes as PHI Aviation prepares to enhance its operations in Australia, where it manages over 200 helicopters across various challenging environments for energy providers, hospitals, air medical organizations, and military operations.

On October 7, 2024, PHI Aviation confirmed that the Airbus H175s will be deployed with INPEX Australia, an offshore energy firm. “Congratulations to our entire PHI team for bringing this fantastic aircraft to market as we prepare to begin operations. This marks an exciting chapter for PHI and further solidifies our leadership in the region,” stated Cory Latiolais, COO of PHI Aviation for Asia Pacific.

The delivery of the two H175 helicopters coincides with PHI Aviation’s celebration of its 75th anniversary, with operational bases in Broome, Darwin, and Exmouth. Airbus noted that the new H175 helicopters will be stationed in Broome, and additional H175s are anticipated to join the fleet in the upcoming months.

“We are pleased to support our long-term customer PHI Aviation with the delivery of the H175 helicopters for their current Australian fleet. The high performance of the H175 aircraft in the challenging Western Australian environment is an excellent addition for the PHI Aviation fleet, especially with their focus on search and rescue operations and marine transfers,” remarked Christian Venzal, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Australia and New Zealand.

PHI Aviation’s diverse fleet also includes Airbus H160s, Sikorsky S-92As, Airbus H145s, Bell B412s, and Eurocopter EC135s. Latiolais emphasized the significance of the new helicopters, stating, “These state-of-the-art aircraft are a significant addition to our growing fleet in Australia. They elevate our operational capabilities while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable innovation and delivering world-class service to our clients.”

The introduction of the Airbus H175 helicopters underscores PHI Aviation’s dedication to enhancing its fleet and operational efficiency, further positioning the company as a leader in the aviation industry in Australia. As they embark on this new chapter, PHI Aviation continues to prioritize safety and innovation in their mission to serve clients effectively across various sectors.
