Pilot spends retirement flying for nonprofit
Gary Dyson, a US Air Force veteran and retired chief pilot for FedEx, now spends his time volunteering at Orbis International, a nonprofit that helps to fight avoidable blindness around the globe. Dyson serves as chief pilot for the Flying Eye Hospital, a cargo plane turned into a modern teaching facility, and says of the experience, “It’s an incredibly gratifying experience to be able to spend my days helping others.”
