Praise greets US reopening to Canada, Mexico travelers

The US says November will bring an end to restrictions on fully vaccinated visitors from Canada and Mexico that have been in place for non-essential travel since March of 2020. “Since the beginning of the pandemic, members of our shared cross-border community have felt the pain and economic hardship of the land border closures,” said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., one of several border-area lawmakers praising the move.
