Princess Cruises Announces 50+ Departures in Japan for 2026
Princess Cruises is set to offer over 50 departures in Japan in 2026, featuring the 2,670-guest Diamond Princess. From February through November, the ship will sail with cruises ranging from seven to 28 days, presenting 35 unique itineraries that include popular destinations like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima.
Built in Nagasaki by Mitsubishi, the Diamond Princess showcases Japanese-inspired experiences such as an Izumi Bath, a noodle bar, and a sushi restaurant named Kai Sushi. Guests can enjoy a selection of Japanese whiskeys, sake, and shochu, along with the traditional storytelling experience of “rakugo.”
John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises, remarked, “Only on Princess can you become immersed in Japan’s rich culture, ancient traditions, and incredible beauty while enjoying a unique onboard fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.” The extended season in 2026 will allow guests to choose cruises during various scenic times of the year, from spring cherry blossoms to autumn foliage.
Highlighted itineraries include:
- 10- and 11-day “Spring Flowers” cruises in March and April
- 9- to 14-day “Circle Japan” voyages that circumnavigate the island
- 9-day “Southern Islands” trips, stopping in Okinawa, Ishigaki, as well as Taipei (Keelung) and Hualien in Taiwan
- 7- to 11-day “Japan Explorer” cruises visiting Shimizu (for Mt. Fuji), Osaka, and Hiroshima
- 15- to 28-day voyages for deeper exploration
Before arriving in Japan, the Diamond Princess will offer two cruises exploring Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand in January 2026. Guests can enjoy a 10-day Vietnam with Halong Bay sailing, which can be combined with an 11-day Malaysia & Thailand cruise for a comprehensive 21-day “Southeast Asia Grand Adventure.”
