Red Roof Inn gives Illinoisans in need a roof overhead

A Red Roof Inn in Downers Grove, Ill., is being repurposed by a local nonprofit as transitional housing for homeless families and individuals. The group, DuPagePads, is using half the hotel’s capacity for its service and hopes to buy the entire building by spring and convert it to interim housing use.
