Regent Seven Seas Cruises Sets New Standards in Luxury Travel

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, established in 1992 through the merger of Radisson Cruises and Seven Seas Cruises, is a renowned leader in the ultra-luxury cruise sector. According to Steve Odell, the senior vice president and chief sales officer, Regent’s core strengths are its “longevity, reliability, trust, and quality of service,” backed by long-standing staff. This reputation for exceptional service is a major draw for luxury travelers.

One of Regent’s standout features is its all-inclusive fare model, which offers more than any competitor. “We include specialty restaurants, unlimited shore excursions, laundry service, and more,” Odell noted. Additionally, guests enjoy complimentary WiFi, enhanced with Starlink, available across Regent’s six-ship fleet.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises relies heavily on travel advisors for its business, with Odell emphasizing the importance of supporting this network. Regent’s Elevate program, introduced last year, enhances this relationship by offering an upgraded RSSC University, sales tools, and marketing support. The line also prides itself on having an in-house call center, praised by travel agents for its excellence in the ultra-luxury cruise industry.

Looking ahead, Regent will expand its fleet with two new Prestige class ships. The first, Seven Seas Prestige, is set to debut in 2026, with bookings opening in mid-2025. The second ship will follow in 2029. These 77,000-ton vessels will accommodate 850 passengers and boast one of the highest guest-to-space ratios, offering even more room in suites and public spaces compared to the current Explorer class ships.

Regent’s guests are typically affluent and experienced travelers, with age demographics varying by itinerary. On shorter Alaska cruises, guests range from 40 to 60 years old, while longer voyages attract an older crowd. North America remains the line’s largest market, contributing 75% of its business.

Regent continues to thrive, with strong projections for 2025, bolstered by early bookings and solid partnerships with travel advisors.
