Relief grants rolling out to N.Y. small businesses

Small businesses and small arts and cultural groups in New York have begun to receive grants of up to $50,000 through the state’s COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program, which has $800 million to allocate. Businesses owned by underrepresented groups are being given priority and a new law exempts the grants from personal income tax and state corporate franchise tax.
