Rex Airlines Earns Recognition as Australia’s Most Reliable Airline for July
Rex Airlines was Australia’s most reliable airline in July, according to the official publication by the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE).
Rex ranked the highest for domestic and regional operations compared to other airlines in Australia, followed by Qantas Group and Virgin Australia Group.
As of 23 July, about 75% of Rex Airlines’ Boeing 737 departures were on time, with about 77% of its departures on time for its Saab 340 aircraft, while the airline’s cancellation rates were below 2% for both its Boeing 737 and Saab 340 aircraft.
“All airlines in the world are severely impacted by the aviation supply chain dislocation as well as a chronic shortage of crew and engineers,” said Lim Kim Hai, Executive Chairman of Rex. “Rex is no different, and we are not proud of our current performance. Many passengers have been inconvenienced, and we sincerely apologise for this.”
“I know that it is small consolation for our disrupted passengers to know that their problems would have been magnified manyfold if they flew with our competitors, but that, unfortunately, is the state of aviation today,” continued the Executive Chairman. “All I can say is that my entire management team is working relentlessly every single day to minimise disruptions and to fix the issues within our control, and we will continue this effort till we regain the old benchmarks of reliability for which we are well known.”
