Roger Dow Readies New Hotel Staffing App
Former U.S. Travel Association president and CEO Roger Dow’s new hospitality staffing company is set to launch a staffing app.
Future Work Solutions, the company Dow launched with convention and visitors bureau executive Mike Gamble, is developing a platform for hospitality workers to post available shifts, days and hours for hotels to fill open positions. Event spaces and hotels will be able to use the app to staff open event and food-service positions and housekeeping jobs, among others, Dow told BTN sibling publication Travel Weekly.
According to the report, the app will utilize location technology to pitch positions to skilled workers and “use facial recognition with a QR code for the check-in process.”
Similar partnerships are also forming amid historic hotel staffing shortages, currently totaling more than “1.3 million leisure and hospitality industry openings,” Dow said.
Dow on Sept. 1 stepped down after 17 years at the helm of U.S. Travel. Dow and Gamble, who is CEO of hospitality executive placement firm SearchWide Global, launched Future Work Solutions in July.
