Rolls-Royce exec: Electric engines coming within 5 years

Fully electric small aircraft supporting regional mobility should be commercially available within five years, a Rolls-Royce executive predicted. “We are confident in the technology” and “we need to scale it so it can have a meaningful economic influence,” said Rob Watson, president of the company’s electrical division.
