Royal Jordanian Airlines, a major player in Middle Eastern aviation, has marked a significant milestone in its fleet enhancement strategy. The airline recently received the first two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft from Azorra, a leading aircraft leasing company. This delivery is part of a comprehensive agreement announced in May 2023, which includes a total of eight aircraft – six from Azorra’s existing backlog with Embraer and two additional E195-E2s ordered directly by the airline from Embraer.

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, reflected on the long-standing partnership between Azorra and Royal Jordanian Airlines, which spans over a decade. Starting from the Embraer E175 to the current next-generation E2 aircraft, Evans expressed pride in supporting Royal Jordanian’s goals for fleet modernization and expansion. He is confident that the airline will soon reap the environmental and economic benefits of operating these new E2 aircraft, along with providing superior levels of passenger comfort.

Samer Majali, Vice Chairman/CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, conveyed his anticipation for the airline to become the first E2 operator in the Middle East. This move, supported by Azorra, aligns with the airline’s strategic objectives. The E2 family of aircraft is expected to complement Royal Jordanian’s larger narrow-body fleet by aligning capacity with demand, reducing operating costs and carbon emissions, and significantly enhancing the passenger experience. Majali underscored the airline’s commitment to maintaining its status as the preferred airline in the region.

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, also commented on this partnership. He noted that Royal Jordanian’s selection of the E2 for fleet modernization speaks volumes about the aircraft’s advanced capabilities. Meijer highlighted the E2’s position as the quietest, least polluting, and most fuel-efficient aircraft in the under 150-seat market. This acquisition enables Royal Jordanian to achieve its growth, profitability, and sustainability goals, with the E2 fleet complementing its larger narrow-body aircraft. He expressed pride in continuing the long-standing relationships with both Royal Jordanian and Azorra.

This development represents a significant leap forward for Royal Jordanian Airlines in its pursuit of operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The introduction of the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to its fleet is a strategic move that enhances the airline’s competitive edge in the region. It not only reflects the airline’s commitment to modernization and environmental sustainability but also ensures a superior travel experience for its passengers.
