Runway reconstruction at Yakutsk International Airport has begun
Current phase of the reconstruction process will end in October 2021
Since May 24, a 625-meter-long section has been closed for construction and installation work. The airport will continue to operate normally with a working section of the 1,628-meter runway.
Air traffic continues to be provided by the airlines Yakutia Airlines, Alrosa Airlines, S7, «Iraero» and Ural Airlines, as they operate flights on aircraft types Boeing-737-700, Embraer-170 LR, Sukhoi Superjet 100 and Airbus 319.The reconstruction will not affect the flight schedule within the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
From October 2021, the Yakutsk International Airport will begin operating a runway with a full length of 3,400 meters (with the active section of 3,250 meters).
