Ryanair has announced the discontinuation of 17 routes and the relocation of 19 aircraft from Dublin Airport, citing disagreements over rising passenger fees and a lack of environmental incentives. The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) refuted Ryanair’s claim of a proposed 45% increase in charges for 2024, stating that the Irish Aviation Authority had sanctioned only a 6% rise. DAA CEO Kenny Jacobs criticized Ryanair’s allegations of mismanagement and failure to implement an environmental incentive scheme, emphasizing the importance of safety projects and asserting that sustainability measures were forthcoming.

Routes affected by Ryanair’s decision include destinations such as Carcassonne, Nuremberg, Leipzig/Halle, Billund, Bournemouth, Castellón, Asturias, Santiago de Compostela, Genoa, Palermo, Klagenfurt, Kosice, Plovdiv, Palanga, Sibiu, Suceava, and Szczecin Goleniów. The dispute highlights ongoing challenges between airlines and airports regarding fees and environmental considerations.
