The pandemic-battered hotel industry in South Florida is banking on a future resurgence of tourism by opening dozens of new properties, most bearing major brands and offering lavish amenities. Roughly 50 new hotels are projected this year in Broward and Palm Beach counties combined, and analysts say discounted rates are unlikely.
