The San Antonio City Council has voted to use federal relief funds to lease a downtown Days Inn for homeless people. The city will pay $1.2 million for the lease and $1.7 million to nonprofit SAMMinistries to operate the shelter, which is expected to serve about 250 people over the coming year.
