San Francisco Named Coziest U.S. City, Surpasses New England
Grab your sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes; the coziest season has arrived! If you’re seeking the ultimate cozy destination, look no further than San Francisco. Recently, All Clear Travel Insurance unveiled its global rankings for the coziest cities, placing San Francisco at the top of U.S. locations and twelfth worldwide.
The rankings were determined through a methodical analysis. Cities known for their cozy appeal in fall and winter were initially shortlisted from social media buzz and various publications. Each city was then scored based on the density of UNESCO World Heritage sites, bookstores, cafes, cinemas, theaters, and museums per square mile. Additional factors included annual precipitation and the volume of Instagram posts tagged with ‘#cozy[city]’. Each criterion was weighted, culminating in a comprehensive score out of 100.
San Francisco’s charm is undeniable, with its foggy mornings, picturesque Victorian houses, and neighborhood cafes creating a scene reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. Notable spots enhancing its cozy vibe include the historic City Lights Bookstore, the artistic Palace of Fine Arts, and the expansive trails of Golden Gate Park.
Other U.S. cities recognized for their coziness include Boston ranking thirteenth, followed by Chicago at seventeenth, and New York City at twentieth. Globally, Brussels claimed the top spot as the coziest city. However, San Francisco’s unique blend of cultural richness and scenic beauty makes it a formidable contender against any cozy European destination.
