Silver Sands to be rebuilt after destruction by Ian

Silver Sands, a 101-year-old hotel on Fort Myers Beach, Fla., announced it will rebuild after being demolished by Hurricane Ian’s powerful winds and flooding in late September. Andrea Carriere, who has owned the Silver Sands for 25 years, said she plans to rebuild the hotel’s cottages with an “Old-Florida-feel, just a little sturdier.”
