Sochi International Airport has served almost 3.7 million people since the beginning of the year
Sochi International Airport served 3,686,256 passengers for the period January-May 2021. This is 60% higher than the dock-like indicators and 1.5 times more than last year’s figures.
The airport’s services on domestic routes in five months of 2021 were used by 3,658,209 passengers (+ 157% compared to the same period in 2020, and 60% in 2019), international – 28,047 (-57% by 2020, -72%)
Compared to the same period in 2020, when due to the pandemic, the airport operated in a reduced mode, and only participants of export flights were served on international routes, the increase in passenger traffic was 157% (1,421,967 people in January-May 2020). At present, international flights have been restored only with Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The current results also look indicative against the background of statistics for January-May of the dock 2019. At that time, 2,292,297 passengers were served, which is 60% lower than the indicators of the current year (3,666,000 people).
The number of sorties during the reporting period amounted to 13,562 operations, which is 113% more than in the same period in 2020.
The volume of processed cargo and mail for the five months of this year amounted to 1,334 tons.
The most popular destinations in the last month were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk.
On international routes, the largest number of passengers was served on flights to Yerevan. However, regular international flights from Sochi airport are still not restored.
