Sonesta Launches Multi-Zone Mtg.-Space Concept

Sonesta International Hotels Corp. unveiled a new multi-zone meeting and event space concept designed to accommodate evolving collaboration needs, the company announced Tuesday.

Sonesta Work Suite “combines the qualities of traditional office and coworking space,” according to the company.

The space, currently open at Sonesta Irvine in California, can host up to 50 people and offers a “multi-zone design.” Each zone supports a different mode for guests, including “seating arrangements that foster brainstorming and heads-down work” in the Work Zone. The Social Zone offers “lounge furnishings” for “collaborative work and social connection,” and the Recharge Zone focuses on refreshments in an “unplugged” setting to help guests disconnect, according to Sonesta.

The Work Suite offers digital options, including high-res screens, wireless connectivity and other audiovisual components.

Sonesta is with plans to expand the Work Suite concept to properties in Miami, San Jose, Denver, Nashville and Atlanta, among others, in the next year and make it a standard across Sonesta properties in the coming years.
