South African Airways’ Resurgence Continues to Aid Airports’ Company Recovery
Airports Company South Africa welcomes the new routes by South African Airways, that will provide direct connectivity from both Johannesburg, O.R. Tambo International and Cape Town Internal Airport to Sao Paulo, Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. Brazil has been one of our largest unserved markets, which has seen a minor recovery due to the lack of direct connectivity between South Africa and Brazil.
Brazil has in the past been a gateway into LATIN America for South Africa, providing vital connectivity to markets such as Argentina, Chile, Cuba, and Colombia. The resumption of the Johannesburg – Sao Paulo route and introduction of the new Cape Town – Sao Paulo route will improve connectivity between South Africa and Brazil, and the entire LATIN America region.
Enhanced connectivity between South Africa and Brazil will strengthen ties between the two countries, improve cooperation and promote mutual tourism, trade, and investment. Additional airlift will accelerate ACSA’s recovery trajectory, which is crucial for the company’s long-term sustainability.
