Southwest, aircraft cleaners reach deal

Southwest Airlines and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association have agreed on a new contract for 170 professionals who sanitize aircraft between flights. “This contract rewards our appearance technicians with immediate and future compensation increases while continuing to support Southwest’s competitive cost position in the US airline industry,” stated Adam Carlisle, Southwest’s vice president for labor relations.
