Southwest extends passes, makes changes to 2021 elite status

Southwest Airlines is making it easier to qualify for elite frequent-flyer status, and its coveted companion pass, in 2021 by spotting members 15,000 points. The airline also extended the life of existing passes again, so that they are good through Dec. 31, a full year after they were originally to have expired.
