Southwest fosters sustainability in local partnership

Southwest Airlines’ global sustainability initiative, Repurpose with Purpose, has partnered with Turnip Green Creative Reuse, a Nashville-based nonprofit, which has repurposed more than 120,000 pounds of Southwest Airlines leather seat covers. The partnership has created unique employment opportunities and has been incorporated into different aspects of TGCR’s operations, including their creative reuse center, open studio, educational outreach, and green gallery.
