Southwest honors WWII’s “Flying Tigers”

As part of their partnership with the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association, Southwest Airlines hosted an event honoring the “Flying Tigers,” a group of US pilots who volunteered to fly for the decimated Chinese air force during World War II. Because of their planes’ iconic livery, “the Chinese impression of the first fighter pilots that were there knocking down the Japanese bombers was that of a tiger,” said 101-year-old Harry Moyer.
