Starlux Airlines departs for LAX, its first destination in the United States

Starlux Airlines, based in Taiwan, launched its first flights to the United States, with an Airbus A350 flying to Los Angeles International Airport on April 26, 2023. The carrier’s B-58503 aircraft departed from Taoyuan International Airport and is scheduled to arrive at LAX approximately 12 hours later.

Starlux Airlines announced its plans to fly to the United States in 2018 and started operations in January 2020. The airline received its first Airbus A350-900 in October 2022. Starlux Airlines aims to operate 24 aircraft and serve over 20 destinations in Asia and North America by 2024.

CEO Genn Chai stated that delivery delays from Airbus had affected the carrier’s plans to fly to other North American destinations.
