Sun Princess, the latest and largest addition to the Princess Cruises fleet, is poised to redefine onboard entertainment when it makes its grand debut in early 2024. This innovative cruise ship will feature an unprecedented range of entertainment options, catering to a wide array of preferences and interests.
At the heart of the ship’s entertainment lineup is the Princess Arena, a marvel of modern engineering and the most advanced entertainment venue at sea. This versatile space can transform to support performances in the round, a 270-degree keyhole setup, and a traditional proscenium theater layout. Denise Saviss, Vice President of Entertainment Experience for Princess Cruises, highlights that the Princess Arena will offer guests unique experiences every night, courtesy of its cutting-edge stages, dynamic lighting design, and immersive surround sound.
The entertainment aboard Sun Princess includes four exceptional production shows, each showcasing the talents of a diverse troupe. These productions range from ‘Vallora, A Pirate Quest’, an 80’s music-driven pirate adventure, to ‘Stage Struck’, a tribute to Broadway, ‘Viva La Música’, a celebration of Latin music, and ‘Fiera!’, a love story set in a European fairground. Each show is crafted by renowned choreographers and directors, ensuring high-quality, engaging performances.
Additionally, the ship introduces two more entertainment venues: The Dome and the Piazza. The Dome, a groundbreaking glass-enclosed structure inspired by Santorini, serves as both a relaxing daytime space and a vibrant evening entertainment venue. It will feature performances by Cirque Éloize, known for their emotional, colorful, and musical acts.
The Piazza, evolving from Princess Cruises’ signature central gathering space, will offer guests an array of entertainment options surrounded by stunning glass architecture. This includes live music, game shows, and special events like the Champagne Waterfall.
Beyond these main venues, Sun Princess guests will be treated to a variety of other entertainment experiences, such as a Sailaway Party, Welcome Show, Themed Deck Party, Game Shows, and a memorable Farewell Show and Light Spectacle. ‘Spellbound by Magic Castle’ is another highlight, blending magic and mixology to create an enchanting experience.
