Support for Asian businesses grows
Asian-owned businesses across the country have had to navigate racism and economic challenges during the pandemic, with 80% of business owners reporting negative effects this past year, according to a survey by Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship. By the same token, the community has been met with growing support, including 80% PPI loan approval and a boost from GrubHub and Yelp. “The community has been very inspiring and is more cohesive in a way that I have never seen,” said NYC’s Pearl River Mart President Joanne Kwong.
