Taiwan is offering tourists an incentive of over €150 to visit the country as part of its efforts to revive its tourism sector. The Ministry of Transportation and Communication plans to give each tourist NT$5,000 (€158) in spending money, which can be used for accommodation and other expenses. Additionally, travel agencies will receive subsidies of up to NT$20,000 (€633) for each group of tourists they bring to the country. The initiative aims to attract six million tourists in 2023 and help the country recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taiwan is a small island with a diverse range of attractions, including vibrant cities like Taipei and picturesque national parks. It offers a subtropical climate, making it ideal for beach trips and outdoor activities. The country is also known for its numerous temples, Michelin-starred restaurants, and its reputation as a safe destination for LGBTQ+ travelers. Taiwan reopened its borders in October 2022, and tourists are no longer required to quarantine on arrival. However, COVID-19 testing and mask-wearing requirements are still in place.
