Boeing and Taiwan’s China Airlines have reached a definitive agreement for the purchase of eight 787-9 Dreamliners at the 2023 Paris Air Show. This order, previously undisclosed on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website, follows China Airlines’ initial order for 16 787-9s announced last year.

China Airlines has also decided to become the newest customer for the 787-10 model by converting six of its 787-9s to the larger 787-10 variant. This strategic move allows the airline to enhance flexibility and capacity on its regional network, responding to the increasing passenger demand that has surpassed pre-pandemic levels.

By introducing a total of 24 highly efficient 787 aircraft in the coming years, China Airlines will fortify its global network. The 787’s advanced technology enables the airline to achieve a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, aligning with its sustainability objectives.

The demand for the 787 family is currently at its peak, with over 250 orders and commitments received in the past six months alone. This reflects the strong market appeal and customer confidence in the capabilities of the 787 Dreamliner series.
