Temporary asphalt plant aids airport runway completion

A portable asphalt paving plant, temporarily stationed onsite, helped Hoyle, Tanner reconstruct a 2-mile runway at Portsmouth International Airport at Pease in New Hampshire ahead of schedule and under budget. Five engineering seniors in the University of New Hampshire’s senior capstone program joined the project for an introduction to airport design.
