The Eiffel Tower used to be its architect’s apartment

Eiffel Tower architect Gustave Eiffel made sure to include enough space for a functioning apartment that featured a kitchen, bathroom and living room, complete with a piano. Despite not having a bedroom, Eiffel received and refused many requests to rent the space, which is today displayed behind glass.
