New research conducted by The Family Vacation Guide reveals the 10 safest holiday destinations for families traveling with kids this summer based on a wide range of factors, including overall safety, family-friendly accommodations, child-friendly restaurants and activities geared toward families. European cities dominate the top of the rankings but Canada and the Middle East are also represented. Here’s a look at the 10 cities that fare the best for safety and family-friendliness right now.

T9. Vancouver, Canada
With an overall family safety score of 6.58 out of 10, Vancouver is tied for the ninth-safest vacation destination for families with kids in 2022. Nearly one-fifth of hotels, activities and attractions in Vancouver are child-friendly and more than one-quarter of restaurants cater to younger travelers.

T9. Rome, Italy
More than four out of 10 restaurants in Rome are child-friendly (40.7 percent), which is the most of any city in the top 10. Additionally, more than 28 percent of local hotels cater to families with children, helping Rome to a family safety score of 6.58, good enough for the top 10.

T7. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai is tied for the seventh-safest family-friendly destination, surpassing both Rome and Vancouver with a family safety score of 6.76 out of 10. Despite a relative lack of kid-friendly restaurants (just 18.18 percent), more than 30 percent of Dubai’s activities and attractions are child-friendly, FVG found.

Tying Dubai for seventh in the study is Brussels, where more than 37 percent of restaurants are child-friendly and nearly 29 percent of all local activities and attractions are inclusive of younger travelers and their families.

Remaining in Europe, Madrid is all alone as the sixth-safest family-friendly destination for 2022, earning a family safety score of 6.89 out of 10. Based on FVG’s research, Madrid fares well across the board, with between 22 and 28 percent of all hotels, restaurants, activities and attractions being kid-friendly.

5. Lisbon, Portugal
Across the Portugal-Spain border, Lisbon ranks fifth despite only 11.51 percent of the city’s hotels being family-friendly. That figure is the lowest of any city in the top 10 but Lisbon is able to overcome it with a whopping 36.71 percent of child-friendly restaurants.

T3. Vienna, Austria
