Thousands of Americans stranded overseas

An estimated 100,000 Americans overseas are unable to get travel documents because of major backlogs at consulates and embassies, many of which are still on emergency status. Some people are turning to brokers who sell appointments, while other Americans are making a mad dash for States before their passports expire.
