TSA invests in upgraded scanning technology
The Transportation Security Administration is spending $198 million to buy more than 300 mid-sized X-ray systems from Computed Tomography, which are expected to start deploying in early 2022. Upgrading scanners “provides our dedicated frontline officers with one of the best tools available to screen passenger carry-on items and also improves the passenger experience by allowing passengers to keep more items in their carry-on bags during the screening process,” said TSA Administrator David Pekoske.
