TSA passenger screenings reach post-pandemic high

The Transportation Security Administration reported screening 2,494,757 passengers at airport checkpoints on Oct. 16, making it the busiest travel day since February 2020, shortly before the pandemic hit the US. Airlines for America said the number of commercial passenger flights remains about 15% below pre-pandemic levels and the number of passengers is down about 6%.
