The Transportation Security Administration reported its lowest passenger screening counts since May on Aug. 24 and 25 after reaching the highest numbers of the year early in the month, fueled by travelers canceling plans due to the upswing in COVID-19 cases. A combined 2.9 million passed through checkpoints on those two days, compared with daily totals around 2.2 million in early August.
