TSA tests ultraviolet disinfection for checkpoint bins

The Transportation Security Administration is testing technology at Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., that uses ultraviolet-C light to disinfect checkpoint bins as they go through screening. “We are excited to test technologies that might prove effective in disinfecting checkpoint bins and eventually provide another layer of protection against viral and bacterial spread,” said TSA’s Scott Johnson.
