United Airlines has proudly commenced its groundbreaking nonstop route connecting Manila, Philippines, with San Francisco, USA. This significant achievement marks the airline’s inaugural trans-Pacific service linking the Philippines to the continental United States. The milestone was celebrated with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, graced by the presence of United Airlines executives, MaryKay Carlson, the US ambassador to the Philippines, and other esteemed government officials.

The service is operated using the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, known for its capacity and comfort. This aircraft can accommodate a total of 350 passengers, distributed across different classes: 60 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, 62 in Economy Plus, and 204 in Economy. The introduction of this route is especially significant given the large Filipino community in the Bay Area, providing a direct link to the Philippines.

The introduction of this direct flight route enhances travel options for passengers between Manila and San Francisco, streamlining the journey and providing convenience and connectivity for both leisure and business travelers. United Airlines’ commitment to expanding its international network underscores its dedication to serving passengers with efficient, top-quality travel experiences.

United Airlines thinks the international travel boom will continue and those routes are the best strategic bet for the airline, according to Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella. “Ultimately, as you approach the end of this decade, the growth in the United States will be very much tied to GDP, but growing overseas, we think there’s just a lot more opportunity,” Nocella said.
