United CEO addresses employee vaccination plan

In an employee town hall last week, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby said, “The worst thing that I believe I will ever do in my career is the letters that I have written to the surviving family members of coworkers that we have lost to the coronavirus,” adding, “I think the right thing to do is for United Airlines … to require the [coronavirus] vaccines and to make them mandatory.” Alaska, Delta, American and Southwest said they would strongly encourage employees to get vaccines, and in some cases facilitate it, but they do not plan to make it a requirement.
