United CEO optimistic about corporate, international travel
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby expressed optimism about the recovery of corporate and international travel, saying “[W]e are starting to see improvement…We’ve seen business bookings start to come back, the holidays are really strong, international demand [to Europe] is particularly strong. We feel – and it certainly looks like from the data – that we bottomed out and are on the way back,” on CNBC’s Squawk Box. Kirby noted that international bookings are up compared to 2019 levels as the Nov. 8 date to reopen international travel to the US approaches, and that “We are ready for customers and they can book with confidence.”
