United Airlines is investing in ZeroAvia and committing to buy as many as 100 of the hydrogen-electric aircraft engines the company is developing, with an eye toward installing them on CRJ-550 regional jets by 2028. “United continues to look for opportunities to not only advance our own sustainability initiatives but also identify and help technologies and solutions that the entire industry can adopt,” said Scott Kirby, the airline’s CEO.
