Boeing announced on May 22nd that undisclosed VIP customers have placed orders for up to four premium, ultra-long-range Boeing Business Jets (BBJ). The orders consist of two BBJ 787-8s, one BBJ 737-7 jet, and an option for a BBJ 777-9. This exciting development was revealed at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Joe Benson, the President of BBJ, expressed the appeal of the BBJ family to VIP customers, highlighting its exceptional combination of comfort, performance, and best-in-class operating economics. These business jets are designed on the platforms of Boeing’s highly successful commercial airframes, offering reliability and capability that is recognized and valued by customers worldwide.

Equipped with cutting-edge innovations and technologies from Boeing’s commercial airplanes, the BBJ family boasts enhanced environmental performance, resulting in reduced fuel consumption compared to previous aircraft generations. These jets provide an unmatched combination of extensive range, efficiency, and passenger comfort.

BBJ 737-7: With the longest range among non-widebody business jets in its class, the BBJ 737 MAX can fly nonstop for 6,600 nautical miles (12,200 km), seamlessly connecting major global hubs such as Geneva and Singapore. Alongside improved efficiency, the BBJ 737-7 reduces emissions and operating costs.

BBJ 787-8: The BBJ 787 Dreamliner features an innovative composite airframe, delivering impressive fuel savings and a range of up to 9,945 nautical miles (18,420 km). The Dreamliner also prioritizes passenger comfort with lower cabin altitude, increased cabin air humidity, and advanced smooth ride technology to minimize turbulence effects.

BBJ 777-9: As the world’s first business jet capable of nonstop travel between any two cities worldwide, the BBJ 777X covers up to 11,025 nautical miles (20,418 km). Notable engineering improvements and state-of-the-art technologies, including a new carbon-fiber composite wing and advanced engines, contribute to superior environmental performance. Similar to the BBJ 787 Dreamliner, the BBJ 777X offers cutting-edge cabin comfort features.

The exceptional operating economics of the BBJ family solidify its position as a leader in the business aviation market. These jets are designed to fly over 4,000 hours per year, offering increased reliability and higher residual value compared to competitors. Boeing’s extensive global network of services, parts, and maintenance ensures that customers can access worldwide support, leading to reduced costs for parts and training.

Boeing Business Jets, the premier VIP jet division established in 1996, has sold over 260 jets to date. Combining the best aspects of commercial aviation with personalized air travel, these high-performance aircraft can be fully customized to suit private, business, or governmental needs.
