UPS CEO Carol Tome on increasing density, holiday peak

UPS is achieving growth with less volume because of a conscious decision to “lean into the parts of the market that really value our end-to-end network, which meant we were leaning into the segments like small and medium-sized businesses and health care and certain enterprise accounts,” CEO Carol Tome said. She said UPS is “expecting a pretty strong peak” for the holiday period, but it won’t reach last year’s, which was driven by a pandemic spike in e-commerce.
