UPS, FedEx ensure vaccine deliveries in storm
FedEx and UPS implemented contingency plans to ensure that COVID-19 vaccines and other cargo shipments encountered minimal delays amid severe winter weather across the country. “We have contingency planning in place related to the movement of vaccines, which have priority status within our network, and are working directly with our customers to help ensure their safe transport and delivery,” said FedEx. The shipping companies’ hubs were affected, and UPS briefly suspended operations at its Worldport facility in Louisville, Ky., before resuming normal operations on Tuesday.
