US airlines adjust mask guidance
Major US airlines are no longer requiring passengers or employees to wear face masks onboard following the administration’s decision to no longer enforce the federal mask mandate on transportation. The news was a “huge relief” for an Alaska Airlines flight attendant who was informed about the mandate lifting midflight, reported Tom Costello on NBC Nightly News. Costello also reported that “with air travel numbers approaching pre-pandemic levels, the airlines had been calling for an end to mask regulations,” citing a March letter from major airline CEOs to the administration requesting the lifting of the federal mask mandate.
